July 2017: Glympton Essie K452 takes Royal Welsh Show championship

This year’s Royal Welsh Show saw our 2010-born cow, Glympton Essie K452, a Young Dale Touch Down daughter, take the Female and Overall Breed Championship. She was shown with her Glympton Danny N724 heifer calf at foot.

Then in the yearling heifer class we stood top of the line with Glympton Duchess Eileen S091, a daughter of the multi award winning Glympton Glespin K470.

Our retained junior herd sire, Glympton Revolver R962, also stood Male and Reserve Breed Champion.

Revolver is by Rawburn Black Hawk L261 and is out of our past show female Glympton Rowena F267. He was successfully shown in 2016 where he was Reserve Junior Interbreed Champion at the Welsh.

Also at the Welsh this year we took a first in the yearling bull class with Glympton Regal S069, this tie by the home bred bull Glympton Danny N724. He went on to stand Reserve Male Champion behind Revolver.

Then in the groups we won the Best Group of Three with Regal, Duchess Eileen and Glympton Egan S118, rounding off a successful day in the judging ring for the Glympton team.
